Fraudulent Signatures Submitted in 4 Counties

KFBB.com: Fraudulent signatures have been submitted in at least four counties for a ballot initiative targeting outfitter sponsored nonresident hunting licenses. Officials say the same person turned in fraudulent signatures in Cascade, Chouteau and Blaine counties. Hill County has a petition from that person, but has not begun verifying signatures. Blaine County Attorney Don Ranstrom says his county received a petition with one valid signature, followed by 17 forged signatures, in alphabetical order. Yellowstone County election officials say they received a petition with hundreds of signatures in the same handwriting with false addresses. The author of the ballot initiative, Kurt Kephart of Billings, told Lee Newspapers of Montana Thursday that he believes a paid signature gatherer turned in false signatures in Cascade County.
